Fuse Trailer Covers the Rules

Remember when Overstrike was announced, and everyone was like, "Coooooooool?" Then remember when it became Fuse, and everyone simultaneously lost interest? Remember how it got worse when the box art was revealed, and each character's head was bizarrely cropped out, literally making the four playable characters little more than faceless soldiers clad in generic battle armor? Yeah. That was a bummer. Despite those missteps, Fuse still looks pretty damn good in action, and that's what really matters.

Earth Defense Force 2025 Coming Next Year

Earth Defense Force 2025 will be coming Stateside in 2013. This is hardly a surprise. A Japanese teaser site for Earth Defense Force 4 appeared way back in July, and this past September I predicted it would be renamed EDF 2025 if it ever saw a US release. I'll go ahead award myself an Obvious Gaming Prediction point. If you've played an EDF game you know what to expect. If you haven't, well, I'm not saying you're a bad person, but you're probably a bad person. Oh, and you should check out that Japanese teaser site again, whether you played it or not. It's got an awesome loop of game play footage running on the main page.

Gamespy Server Shutdown Ends an Era of Classic PC Games

GameSpy has recently come under new ownership by a company called Glu Mobile.  Unfortunately it looks like the first thing the incoming regime did is what happens a lot in corporate takeovers, they trimmed the fat so to speak.  With that they shutdown a lot of multiplayer servers for several older PC games.  Many co-op titles like Neverwinter Nights, Hidden and Dangerous 2, SWAT 4, and Star Wars: Battlefront no longer had any multiplayer functionality - though some games do allow LAN or direct connection options.

More Kinect Party Pricing Details Revealed

As we reported last week, Double Fine's Kinect Party (the follow-up to Happy Action Theater) will debut on Xbox Live Arcade this Tuesday. From that day until December 31 it will be free for anyone to own. But how much will it cost to buy if you don't grab it within that time period? After the game switches to a paid model, it will actually be sold in a fairly interesting way. Read on for the details.

PC Version of Pid Get its Difficulty Issues Ironed Out

Pid is a game I so badly wanted to love, only to eventually call it the most disappointing game of the year in our Co-Op review. The game just turned out so frustratingly difficult that playing it felt only slightly better than putting your groin in a vice grip and spinning the handle, to say nothing of the horrible collectible system. Well, developer Might & Delight has taken the widespread criticism to heart and released a major patch for Pid's PC version that smoothes out the default difficulty as well as adding a new Easy mode. We've got a few exclusive details on those tweaks to share with you today.
