Because you didn't really slay stuff in the other versions of the game.

Gauntlet Hits PS4 as Gauntlet: Slayer Edition

The Warrior, Wizard, Valkyrie, and Elf are still at it, hacking away like nobody's business. The modern reboot of the classic arcade franchise was met with more than a few nodding heads when it hit in the summer of 2014. It's a bit late to the party, but the game has finally spread to PlayStation 4 under a new, retooled name: Gauntlet: Slayer Edition.

Don't call her that, though. She prefers "Corpse Enthusiast."

The Necromancer Joins the Gauntlet Crew; New Arena Mode

The first DLC character has finally arrived for  Gauntlet. I mean, the Gauntlet released this year, and not the game with the exact same title from 1985. Meet Lilith, a Necromancer by trade, heroine of the universe by choice, who you can pick up for $4.99. Instead of cruising around dungeons swinging swords, she takes a more "hands off" approach by conjuring a horde of skeletal minions to do her bidding. Let's face a cold, hard fact: if we could summon shambling corpses to do whatever we said, we'd probably get a lot more done.

Gauntlet Reboot Release Slips Back a Few Weeks

The Warrior, Wizard, Valkyrie and Elf will have to wait a few more weeks before making their 2014 debut. The modernized reboot of the classic co-op monster killer Gauntlet has been pushed back to a September 23rd release date, adding about three weeks to the original date. Don't worry, though, we'll get a robe made out of dead imps as a consolation prize.

Gauntlet Rebooting This Summer

Gauntlet is getting ready for a comeback. The classic co-op monster smasher was first released in arcades nearly 30 years ago. Since then it's been kicking around in various ports across newer gaming systems. Now, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced a new Gauntlet game set for release this summer, and Magicka developer Arrowhead Game Studios is leading the charge!
