Guardians of Middle-Earth Gets XBLA Date Confirmed

While the initial release date announcement for Guardians of Middle-Earth illicited some confusion, with only a PlayStation Network and retail date being announced, we've now gotten confirmation of the Xbox Live Arcade release date.  The game will be out on December 5th, the day after the PlayStation Network release and will be priced at $14.99.  It'll launch with two maps and 20 guardians to choose from.

Awakening: The Art of Halo 4 Hardcover Book Impressions

As a long time Halo fan the mythology and evolution of the series has fascinated me.  As someone who has been playing video games for the past 30 some years and covering them for the past 10, I've taken a keen interest in the process behind making them - even making one myself.  One of my favorite things to do is to look at concept art from video games, like those we saw at the Into the Pixel Exhibition at E3 this year.  These pieces of art not only serve a purpose for developer, but are most times beautiful masterpieces that can stand on their own.

Super Mario 64 Mod Adds 2 Player Co-Op

The internet can be an awesome place from time to time. I never cease to be amazed at the sheer ingenuity and dedication of fans who are passionate about their interests, and today we have a great video game example of this phenomena. Super Mario 64 was an instant classic when it was released in 1996, and it was incredibly influential to the 3D platforming genre. Great as it was, though, it was missing one thing... co-op! Even the remake for Nintendo's DS system didn't fix this tragic flaw.

Our Weekend in Gaming - Post Election Halo 4 Edition

This week was both a highlight and a low light in America as we held our presidential elections.  Obviously it's a great thing to see a country vote for its leadership and democracy in action.  But it was ugly as friends, coworkers, and gamers alike turned on each other with nasty vitriol after the outcome.  Needless to say it's a good thing we had Halo 4 to distract us.

Get Your Copy of Too Human Now, It's going to be Destroyed Otherwise

Too Human developer Silicon Knights has been locked in a legal battle since 2007 with Gears of War developer Epic Games.  The lawsuit was in regards to engine licensing and support and was originally filed by SI, but later counter sued by Epic Games.  Needless to say it was an ugly battle, one in which Silicon Knights eventually lost.  While initial damages were set to cost them $4.45 Million, it appears things are even worse.
