PAYDAY: The Heist Scores Wolfpack DLC Next Week

PAYDAY: The Heist is getting even more much-needed love. The criminally delightful squad shooter recently received some free DLC via a non-canon Left 4 Dead crossover: "Mercy Hospital." This Steam exclusive mission was a nice touch for the mouse and keyboard set, but what about the PS3 gamers? Don't worry your pretty little heads. Overkill Software has got you covered.

Resident Evil 6 Takes a Cue from Dark Souls: Introducing Agent Hunt Mode

New details on Resident Evil 6 are surfacing today. We know the survival horror/extreme action title (apparently Capcom doesn't know the difference) is centered on three cooperative campaigns. In addition to the co-op gameplay there will be a little something extra for the more competitive gamers out there. RE 6 has a new mode for all the griefers, player killers, and all-around unloved evil people out there.

New PC Indie Shooter, Recruits, Offers 4 Player Drop-In/Drop-Out Co-Op; Alpha Available on Desura

There is a certain game that hits today on PSN offering some twin-stick shooter style gameplay with co-op and a few well-known movie guys. At least one Co-Optimus staff member is super excited and, as is my understanding, has been eating more meat than usual in order to become "manly enough to handle it." However, if you're a bit leary of movie tie-in games, and looking for a game with perhaps a little more substance, then perhaps you'll be interested in the Recruits.

Co-Op Monthly Round-Up for July 2012

To say July was a bit underwhemling on the gaming front would be an understatement.  The month was mostly barren for news and releases, giving true meaning to the summer gaming drought.  The good news is a lot of backlog games were finally played.

Borderlands 2 will have an easy to use gore filter, if you want

To Gib, Or Not to Gib, that is the Borderlands 2 Question

When the original Borderlands was released, umbrella sales went through the roof.  It was the only way that people could protect themselves from the shower of blood and limbs in the game.  Personally, I like my rain filled with meaty chunks, but others may not.  Therefore, news that Borderlands 2 will have a gore filter will be music to their still attached ears.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Demo Launches on XBL and PSN Today

If you're like me, you've been ho-humming through the summer, waiting for the onslaught of upcoming fall games. There have been a few shiny distractions here and there, but nothing has really held my interest, until today. I fired up the new demo for Transformers: Fall of Cybertron and lo and behold, I actually wanted to play it again, and again, and maybe even one more time after that. I don't know if I'm that starved for the next big thing, but this demo at least provided an appetizer.
