PSN Title "Amy" Looks To Integrate Survival Horror and Co-Op in Digital Content

When taking a look at cooperative PSN titles lately, we've been seeing a lot of puzzle titles that force players to work together against the high score. Now however, the in-progress survival horror title looks to bring players together for a terrifying co-op experience, as well as an in depth story to enjoy. Amy, the misleadingly girlie title of an incredibly dark game, is looking to bring a truly horrific story to our PSN's, with players working together to run, hide, and fight off hordes of not-quite-human's.

Co-Op Release Alert for the Week of 4.18.2011

Are you ready for this?  It's time for the co-op games of mid-to-late April!  Woo-Hoo!  This week we've got the retail releases of some XBLA classics!  Wii's only FPS worth mentioning gets a sequel; and Navy SEALs infiltrate the PS3.  I feel like I'm missing something...  Oh yeah, Portal 2 comes out tomorrow.  It would have come out earlier, but you didn't give Valve enough time and money.  Shame on you.

Red Faction: Armageddon catches Co-Op Infestation Mode

Volition has the sort of track record that we at Co-Optimus like.  They recently decided to ditch their online versus modes for the upcoming Saints Row: The Third, in favor of improving the co-op campaign.  This was great news for co-op fans (admittedly not for versus fans), but what of their other popular IP?  Time to dig out your dynamite reserves and structural engineering degree because Red Faction: Armageddon is getting a co-op mode as well.

Roland Showcased in New The First Templar Video

Kalypso's upcoming action game, the First Templar, is due out next month. We previewed the game back at the end of January, and thought it had a lot of great co-op potential. Now, for your viewing pleasure, we have a trailer showcasing one of the playable templar characters of the game - Roland. The video shows off a lot of combat play as well as some pretty brutal finishing moves (did he just stab someone down his spine?!).

Portal 2's Steam and PS3 Integration Explained, Plus 7 Minutes of Co-Op Footage

Valve have released the details just ahead of Portal 2's official launch on the game's PlayStation 3 integration with Steam.  PS3 owners will be getting a full Steam overlay, accessible by the select button, with integration of their Steam friend's lists, chat options, and more.  In addition to these features, Valve reconfirmed that PS3 owners can play with Mac and PC owners of the same game in two player co-op - even better - if you earn any Trophies on your PlayStation 3 the corresponding achievement automatically unlocks on Steam.  Sadly, earning achievements on Steam won't unlock the trophies on your PS3.

12 Minutes of Battlefield 3 Footage is All You'll Need

While most of this video is something you've seen already, as part of the previously release Battlefield 3 "Fault Line" series, watching the entire 12 minutes of gameplay footage from start to finish is still impressive.  The video is the exact same demo that was given at GDC 2011 earlier this year, one in which many attendees were blown away by not only the graphics and gameplay...but the volume.
