Developers Struggle to find the Demand that Once Was

On the Download Issue 36: The Decline of XBLA

Over the years Xbox Live Arcade has gone through an evolution. While it started as remakes, re-releases, and every so often an original title it’s now evolved into something different. It’s now a service filled with games that aren’t quite big enough for a full retail product. It it feels like XBLA has lost its identity.

June will see MGS HD coming to Vita, but Peacewalker is absent

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Coming to Vita, but with No Co-op!

I do like a good collection of games; more pleasure for the same price.  Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is a prime example of this, not only did you get updated versions of some of the earlier single player outings of the franchise, but also a brand spanking new update of the 4 player co-op Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD.  The collection has just been announced for Vita, surely the PSP native Peace Walker would fit seamlessly onto Sony's new handheld?  Apparently not, as a certain game is missing...

CCV Blog Wrap-up for April 2012

Co-Op Monthly Round-Up for April, 2012

Hmm.  It appears I may have forgotten to do one of these for March.  For that, I apologize.  April's round-up though isn't particularly interesting, it was an incredibly light month for co-op gaming with not a single AAA retail release.  That's not to say we didn't see a few interesting titles come out, A Valley Without Wind stick in my mind, but overall things were very quiet.  Here are some of the more interesting stories and features to come out in April, of 2012.

The upcoming Dragon's Lair on XBLA will allow 2 players to act as Dirk's lives

Dragon's Lair XBLA has Local Co-op (sort of)

Gamers under 25 don't know how lucky they are.  When I was a lad all of this was fields and the arcade was full of games with near impossible difficulty.  A prime example of this was Don Bluth's Dragon's Lair, a spectacular looking game that was harder than Jason Statham holding a diamond tipped hammer.  Now you can relive this glorious gaming torture on XBLA from 18th April.   This time bring a pal in local 2 player co-op, but is it co-op?
