New RAGE TV Spot is All Style

Hi, folks!  Remember, way back when, where I briefly broke down the structure of some of the different types of game trailers?  It seems like only yesterday when I wrote, "Most (trailers) splice together dynamic gameplay footage and add in some appropriately themed music, tossing in a quote here and there."  This new Rage trailer does exactly that.  It's overflowing with cool stuff backdropped by a pounding track from A Perfect Circle, and yet it somehow manages to tell us nothing about the game.  All I know from this trailer is that I'm supposed to shoot everything while trying not to get squished (:56).  Works for me!

Developer Treasure has plans for GH2, but needs GH HD to sell well

Guardian Heroes 2 Contingent on Success of Guardian Heroes HD

Guardian Heroes HD comes out in about a month, and will hopefully be a nice shot to the nostalgia vein of gamers who loved the original. What fans might not know, however, is that the project was originally envisioned as a sequel to the Sega Saturn game. When developer Treasure pitched Guardian Heroes 2 to their publisher, SEGA told them to first re-establish the IP. So there you have it, the fate of Guardian Heroes 2 will be determined by how well Guardian Heroes HD does.

The Cursed Crusade Offers the Most Informative Trailer, Ever

Game trailers come in many different flavors.  Most splice together dynamic gameplay footage and add in some appropriately themed music, tossing in a quote here and there.  Others are crafted around an emotion, which works to varying degrees.  (See Dead Island or the latest Gears of War 3 trailer.)  Then there are others that tell you exactly what you can expect in the game.  They screen almost like a manual. That's what we have here.  The following video appears to check off boxes on a features list, telling us every bullet point in The Cursed Crusade.  It's not artsy, but damn, it got me interested in the game.

Dead Island Ships 1 Million to North America, 2 Million Worldwide

It appears as if there are a lot of people on vacation this past week as publisher Deep Silver has announced Dead Island has shipped more than 1 million copies of the four player co-op game to North America alone to fullfill demand.  The world wide numbers are close to 2 million copies of the game, a number expected to be hit by the end of the week.

The latest title update for Bangai-O HD gives access to all level to play in co-op

Bangai-O HD Title Update Blasts Open Co-Op Levels

Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury is a fun 2 player co-op shoot-em-up that Co-Optimus gave a solid 3.5 out of 5.  The biggest barrier to our enjoyment was that levels were locked in the co-op mode unless the host player had already completed them alone!  A new title update fixes this issue and opens all levels to play in co-op from the start.

Four Player Co-Op Army Corps of Hell Coming to PlayStation Vita, First Screens

The PlayStation Vita may be a ways off for US consumers, but we can still get excited about potential co-op games.  Army Corps of Hell was just announced at the Tokyo Game Show.  It will launch with the new handheld on December 17th in Japan.  Aside from having a very cool title, the game has been reported to support  four player co-op.  According to Andriasang.com, "you play as a king of demons and must command an army of 100 goblins in the many floating islands that make up hell."  Sounds kind of like Overlord, but on an island paradise.  An island paradise - in HELL!  Mwa-ha-ha.
