Our Weekend in Gaming - Dark Souls 2 On PC Edition

I'm not sure why I keep trying the Souls series of games, in all my hours of playing them I've yet to find anything I'd consider fun or satisfying. Yet I'm diving back in for more pain and torture otherwise I won't hear the end of it from certain staff members. In fact, a lot of the staff is dipping into the graphically superior version of the game.

Starting May 31st, your online play may change

Online Service Changes coming for Borderlands and Other 2K Titles

Several online service changes are coming to many 2K games this May, most notably Borderlands and Civilization games. On May 31st, the first Borderlands, as well as seven Civilization titles (listed below) on PC will temporarily go offline while 2K transfers online service from GameSpy Technology to Steamworks. While offline play will remain unaffected, the titles that will temporarily be unavailable for online play are:

Dark Souls 2 arrived on PC last night (you could likely hear the tortured screams of Nick and myself) a little ahead of its original release date of today. While the game is known for its difficulty, there are a few challenges that have come up for players that aren't intended. Like the game not starting at all. Dark Souls 2 Launches Early On PC. We Giveaway FIVE Copies.

Dark Souls 2 is out now on Steam, an early surprise for folks who pre-ordered the title. The game was originally supposed to launch tomorrow, a few weeks after the console release, but somebody decided to push the button tonight. While we were impressed with the gameplay of the console version, there were times that it graphically just couldn't stand up. Now the PC version is here to offer some improvement in that department while retaining all the gameplay so many folks enjoy.

Cooperative totem building

Press Play's Next Title, Project Totem, Coming to Xbox One

Best known for their work on Max and the Magic Marker and Max: The Curse of Brotherhood, Danish developer Press Play is dipping into the world of cooperative games with their upcoming title, currently name Project Totem. In this puzzle platformer, players are tasked with navigating through a series of levels in order to complete the construction of a totem. The catch is that you have to control two objects at the same time.
