Updates for Black Desert, TERA, and SWTOR

MMO Co-Opportunities Volume CVIII: Kunoichi, High Seas, and Estates

We’ve settled into the cozy days of February, where the frigid breezes and dreary rain outside entice us to stay inside bundled up with a hot beverage in one hand a controller or mouse in the other. For this issue of MMOCO, we’ll be taking a look at updates to Black Desert, TERA, and SWTOR! Let’s dive in....

The “Spring 2020” Sequel Sees No Solid Release Date

Dying Light 2 Delayed

Techland, developer of the original Dead Island and the well-received 2015 zombie-smashing/parkour hybrid Dying Light, took to the web recently to announce that Dying Light’s sequel, Dying Light 2, has had its release date pushed back from ”Spring 2020” window. Unfortunately that was the extent of the information provided, as the developer only went on to say that more information will be announced “in the coming months.” Would-be zombie killers will have to sit patiently and await further word on why the delay took place and when the game will see the light of day.

Ride With Friends

Knights And Bikes Comes To Nintendo Switch

Knights and Bikes, the adorable hand-painted, cooperative, action-adventure game from Foam Sword, is riding from its PC and PlayStation 4 roots out onto the portable Nintendo Switch today. The game can be played in both single player and co-op, so whether you want to grab a friend (and your pet goose) as you head out, or if you prefer to stay solo, Knights and Bikes is ready to roll.

The skies have never been sneakier.

Sky Rogue Is Out Now On Xbox One

Sky Rogue, the hottest procedurally generated flight combat game around, is now available to anybody with one of those fancy Xbox Ones.  The title was originally released on PC in July of 2015, and in 2018, the folks at Fractal Phase were gracious enough to bring the game's roguelite sensibilities to living rooms worldwide via the Nintendo Switch.  Now, thanks to its release on Microsoft's flagship console, that availability expands even further.

Time to dust off that climbing gear.

Our Weekend In Gaming: A Mountain Of Games

The Co-Opticrew has a whole heapin' pile of video games to play this weekend.  We'll likely be preparing the base camp this evening, with the ascent coming on Saturday morning.  Luckily for us, the peak of Video Game Mountain has essentially the same oxygen makeup and temperature setting as whatever's in our offices or living rooms.  I'm not expecting any injuries, but I've sent the staff an extremely thorough list of breathing exercises and hand stretches to ensure nothing goes awry.

No pain, no brain.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Zombie Squad

Zombies are back in, apparently?  After nearly a decade of being the en vogue antagonist for games, books, comics, and movies, I kind of figured people were more or less over the undead phenomenon.  As it turns out, though, I was dead (heh) wrong.  Luckily, the Co-Opticrew has jumped into action and are spending the weekend mowing down the newly risen hordes of putrid brain-eaters.  Their skills may be rusty, but that's nothing a few light machine guns can't fix.

No more content disparity between the PC and console versions

Console and PC Content Updates Will Finally Align for Monster Hunter: World

After getting out a patch that addressed some major issues with the PC version of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, Capcom continued the good news train with announcing this weekend that they would finally get all versions of the game aligned so that event quests and other content would be available at the same time. Ever since the PC version released back in August 2018, there's been a content delay of at least a few weeks between it and the consoles. With Title Update 3 (coming sometime April 2020), that'll all be a thing of the past.
