Here in the UK the sun has finally come out and a summer to remember is just around the corner. June promises to be a good one this year; a four day weekend for the Queen's Jubilee, a European Cup to look forward to, the Olympic Games on home turf and Babel Rising finally comes out on PSN and XBLA.
There was a time when we thought we'd see Aliens: Colonial Marines in the Spring...of 2010. There was also a time when we thought we'd see the game coming this Fall. Sadly I've run out of movie quotes to use for the latest delay. Today, Gearbox and SEGA have announced the "official" release date for the four player co-op game - and that date is - February 12th, 2013.
We finally have a release date for the PlayStation 3 version of Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock. The Doctor and his companion will be landing in the year 2012, on May 23rd to be exact. You'll be able to download the game via PSN or, if you're in the UK, pick up a retail copy on May 25th.
The next Sim City game will launch in early 2013, according to an Electronic Arts earnings call with investors that took place yesterday. The publisher has now confirmed its launch for 'Q4 fiscal year 2013', which is real calendar time for January to March 2013.
Microsoft has sent along a press release announcing that Halo 4 will be releasing world wide on November 6th, 2012. The announcement will be celebrated tonight on Conan O'Brien on TBS at 11PM Eastern with a special segment focused on the game.
Torchlight 2 was supposed to see the light of day last year, but we were told to just go play some other awesome games while Runic continues to make Torchlight 2 awesome. So here we are a month away from the biggest PC release in years, that would be Diablo 3, and there's still no official word on Torchlight 2's status.
What was once lost, is now found. Ghost Recon Future Soldier at one point was completely cancelled on PC, but now will live to see the light of day on June 12, 2012. The four player co-op game will come complete with several enhancements for those of you sporting fancy computers capable of displaying shiny graphics.
There are many cultural differences between America and the UK. You say tomato, I speak properly, but there is no need to call the whole thing off. In fact, as a Brit I am willing to embrace any obscure US based phenomenon if it means more co-op gaming. This is the case with World Gone Sour an upcoming local 2 player co-op based on the Sour Patch Kids IP I have never heard of. The game is coming to PSN on the 10th April ($4.99) and XBLA on the 11th (400MSPs). Check out the new story trailer and screens.
After much speculation, after a lengthy beta, after almost 12 years...hell will be unleashed again. Diablo 3 is coming to retailers and Battle.net on May 15th, Blizzard have announced today. The action RPG is part of a series that is one of the most popular and longest played co-op series of all time.
A bold statement like All Zombies Must Die does not sit easily with me. What about the random zombie who appears to still have some sort of brain process, don't they deserve to live? What am I saying, of course these flesh eating, panic causing, stench releasing deadites need to die! PSN and XBLA owners have been doing just this since December last year and now Steam players will get the chance when All Zombies Must Die is released on the12th March.
Dungeon Defenders' next installment of DLC, entitled the Quest for the Lost Shards of Eternia Part II, has been in the works for a little while. While it was originally planned to come out on February for the PC, further testing and tweaking was required and thus bumped back the release slightly.
That's right, everyone. Earlier this week, Nintendo announced via an online news broadcast that the Last Story would be coming to the U.S. this summer. Though the game has been out for well over a year in Japan, it only released a few days ago in EU and AUS - and until this week, there had been no real verification whether it would be coming to the U.S. or not.
Sometimes I love being wrong about things. I thought for sure the delay of Aliens: Colonial Marines into the fall season would push Borderlands 2 from the same release window. After all - two Gearbox titles in a short span of time seemed a bit too good to be true.
While it isn't a release date, we do have a release window for Diablo 3. The game is being targeted at a 2nd quarter 2012 launch - which puts it firmly in the April, May June window. This news comes from Activision's quarterly financial report, specifically a slide deck made available for investors.
The titles are rolling on yet another episode of The Simpsons, but this time it is not one of the tired antics of the past few years, but a classic from the past; The Simpsons Arcade. Co-Optimus already dropped the news that The Simpsons Arcade was coming to PSN and XBLA, but Sony have thrown in an extra bonus. If you are a member of the Playstation Plus scheme you can download the game for free from the 7th February. As for owners of Microsoft's gaming behemoth - no news yet on a release or pricing.
