With their virtual life partners at their side, they'll explore new worlds, combat fearsome foes, and drain their bank accounts on highly detailed body pillows. What fun! I hear the nuptials are already being planned, so I'd advise going ahead and picking out some extra tasteful Second Life outfits.
Sucker Punch's stylish samurai third-person action game, Ghost of Tsushima, received its 1.11 update today, which not only brings New Game+ to the title but a whole new co-op mode as well. "Legends" will let you and some friends work together in three different mission types: Story, Survival, and Raid (coming at a later date). Players will choose to play as one of four different classes - Samurai, Ronin, Hunter, and Assassin - and will gain new gear and abilities for their class as they play.
Baldur's Gate is over twenty years old, and while a sequel only took two years, the third game in the series is arriving sometime next year. Players can begin to participate in an Early Access version of Baldur's Gate III which features the game's first chapter, a lot of the core systems and characters, and best of all - online co-op play.
Two weeks after its release, Genshin Impact has made quite the impression in the gaming scene. The free-to-play, third-person action game draws a ton of inspiration from Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as well as an elemental system that's reminsicent of the Divinity: Original Sin titles (i.e., combining two elements produces a new result). Due to forces outside our control, last's week iteration of the Weekend in Gaming post vanished into the ether. It was truly a shame to lose such valuable information, but it did give the Co-Opticrew a chance at a triumphant return. Unfortunately, said return appears to be more whimper than bang.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity's release date isn't far off at this point, so naturally, folks are starting to get mighty curious about how it'll play, as well as how it'll differ from its predecessor. Even though this style of hack-and-slash game tends to be more iterative than innovative, it's certainly understandable that fans of the genre want reasons to get excited about the upcoming title.
September was another month packed full with interesting co-op releases of all shapes and sizes. In addition our database saw an expansion by over 200 titles new and upcoming spreading over all platforms. The Nintendo Switch library in particular sees almost daily additions to it's already huge trove of co-op-enabled past-times.
Minecraft Dungeons has had a pretty active update schedule since its summer release, which honestly makes a good deal of sense. Loot-em-ups tends to live and die based on how well their developer can sustain a constant influx of new content, so Mojang's flurry of free and paid post-release expansions should help them establish a nice, solid player base.

Last week, Valve released a hefty piece of DLC for zombie-killing co-op classic, Left 4 Dead 2. Titled "The Last Stand," it packs a punch with 26 new survival arenas, 4 new scavenge areas, and a full-blown campaign based around The Lighthouse survival map. On top of that, there's new melee weapons (from Counter-strike: Source), new/reworked animations, PVP updates, and 30 additional achievements.
