Marvel's Avengers has finally arrived and it is equal parts fun/engaging and a buggy mess prone to crashing. We attempted to play through some of the co-op last night and, after nearly an hour, we finally managed to get all the way through a mission without the game crashing or some other bug cropping up. So... success?
Here's a hypothetical situation: you're a disgraced priest living in a psuedo-medieval world where horrid creatures are free to wander around and terrorize innocents. What would you do? Would you mope around, maybe write some strongly worded missives, or would you pick up your dang staff and set out to right those obvious wrongs?
Most of the Co-Opticrew has an extra long weekend coming up, which would be pretty exciting if there wasn't a global disease on the prowl. Nevertheless, we're taking the good with the bad and packing our weekends full of gaming (and other non-contact activities). It doesn't look like things will be changing anytime soon, so the quicker we get used to new ways of having fun, the better.
We've had a mere seven months to come to grips with the unending Nazi hordes of Zombie Army 4: Dead War. After working through the core gameplay content and a whole season's worth of extras, I can only imagine that ZA4's playerbase is thoroughly exhausted. They'll need to find some way to push on, though, as developer Rebellion is proving to be as unrelenting as their undead antagonists.

Most of the Co-Opticrew didn't partake in the first round of "surgery practice" - that is Surgeon Simulator. The original released a few years back and later added a co-op mode. The latest game in the series though seems to be built around co-op play, with four doctors and their wobbly arm set to perform surgery on a willing volunteer.
The Co-Opticrew is donning their best knickers and heading to the golf course this weekend to show off their exceptional approach game. You won't find any bogeys lying around this weekend - it's birdie or bust for us. Golf may not be the most cooperative activity around, but sometimes, you just need a chance to prove you're better at hitting a ball than your friends. Don't worry, though, we'll be working together again soon enough (once the trash talk has worn off).
Unless you count Birdemic (and you shouldn't), you'd have to look all the way back to Alfred Hitchcock's Birds for the last instance of avian-centric fear. Fortunately for us, Obsidian Entertainment has taken up the mantle by introducing a new, feathery terror to their survival game, Grounded.
I'll be honest, when Hellraid was announced it was easily one of my most anticipated co-op games. Heretic and Hexen were some of my all time favorite shooters and this looked like a solid spiritual successor. Hellraid has taken a turn though, instead of a full fledged release (at least for now) - it's merely a concept in a piece of content for Dying Light. So does it scratch that itch?
I have precisely zero surgical experience, but from what I've gathered through medical osmosis, it seems like an unbearably tense situation, and that's even for people with full control of their limbs. Imagine, then, how much worse it must be when you have dubious sway over your own body and up to three friends laughing at how much you're screwing everything up.
