By now you must have heard that we're gearing up for Extra Life, a 24 hour gaming marathon for charity. We're raising money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. If you have 24 hours to spare this weekend, you can still join our team, and help us bring in donations. If not, you can still join in on the fun. We're inviting everyone to join us this weekend, whenever you can, playing whatever game we happen to be playing at the time. We've started a tentative schedule which you can view below, or on our Extra Life 2012 page.

As it turns out, Halo 4 will be packing so much content that gamers will have two discs instead of one in their purchases.

Disney have released a new set of screenshots for the upcoming platformer, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two.  The Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii game teams up Mickey with Oswald as they adventure through classic Disney locales utilizing the power to create or destroy to solve puzzles.

We're fast approaching the release date of Assassin's Creed 3,  the next game in the series which takes place during the American Revolutionary War.  After many, many rumors we finally got confirmation of  co-op for the game, though it's a separate mode called Wolfpack.  But confirmation was all we had and we haven't heard much else since.  Now with the October 30th release date just two weeks away, we've got a few more details to share - including a new multiplayer video.

The latest PlayStation Store update will make PAYDAY: The Heist free to PlayStation Plus members. The four player crime caper is a terrific cooperative experience. If you are a PS Plus member you really should check it out.

The launch trailer for the first Borderlands 2 campaign DLC is live. "Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty" will be availble for download later today. Wait, wait. Let me go check one of my video game playing machinges... Still there? Wait just a sec. It's doing it's thing. Menus... Loading... Let's see. Oh look. Five billion Rock Band songs. From what I can see, no, it's not up yet. Good thing I have this trailer to tide me over. You can watch it, too!

Call of Duty Elite was introduced with the launch of Modern Warfare 3.  The premium service for everything Call of Duty was Activision's experiment to extend the product outside the boundaries of the game while providing a premium service for fans of the series.  It also provided regular content updates which were also sold as premium DLC to non-subscribers of the $60 service.  For the most part, it seems Elite was successful, but perhaps it was a bit confusing and burdensome for the more casual player.

Earlier this year fans of A World of Keflings were asked to vote for what DLC they wanted for the game; Candy, Graveyard or Pirates.  Candy won the day and the DLC was duly revealed.  Ninja Bee are not the type of developer to let market research go to waste so they have decided to plunge deeper into the votes and produce some Graveyard style DLC in the form of The Curse of the Zombiesaurus, due October 17th.

Microsoft has finished their final tests on Minecraft: Xbox 360’s newest DLC, the 1.8.2 Adventure Update, giving its owners huge, free DLC add-on’s that will extend their Minecraft playing experience exponentially; you’ll feel like you’re playing a whole new game!

An upcoming title update will add even more co-op to Resident Evil 6. A new playable character will be available for Ada Wong's previously single-player only campaign. The yet to be named character will make Ada's adventure the fourth playable campaign in Capcom's action-packed horror franchise.  This update will also include access to the "No Hope Left" (AKA super hard) difficulty. 

What do jetpacking chickens, dancing time travelers, grotesque portable horrors, and headless kamikaze bombers have in common? Other than being awesome? They're all coming to your friendly neighborhood game systems this week.
