Initially, Borderlands 2 may have had a chance on the Wii U, but Gearbox decided against it in the end. Why? In short, the Wii U’s hardware was the deciding factor.

In recent years, the deck building genre of card games has become very popular. Dominion hit the scene in 2008, and was a smash hit. In addition to a host of expansions for that game, many other deck building games have been published. One thing that was missing from the genre, though, was cooperation. The subject of this installment of Tabletop Co-Op, Legendary, introduces Marvel super heroes into the deck building genre, and adds co-op too!
Borderlands 2 dropped some more DLC love on us before the holiday break. "Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage" is the second story add-on for the addictive shooter-looter franchise. It blasts onto the scene amidst some of the biggest launches of the year. Does Mr. Torgue have enough explosive charisma to distract veteran Vault Hunters from Black Ops 2 and Halo 4? Yes. Briefly.
Normally when we talk about adding a ridiculous amount of players to a co-op game, it doesn't quite work out like we hoped. The same can't be said for the military tactical game ArmA 2. There's a mod in the works that is being dubbed as the "Headless AI Client" and it's allowing for some truly impressive battles to take place featuring dozens, even hundreds, of players with realistic and intelligent AI while still maintaining solid frame rates.
Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition will be hitting iOS and PC tomorrow, bringing with it a version of Baldur's Gate that has gotten a ton of polish and even some new content. The game was delayed a few months to polish up some of its own issues, which is a good thing, but it's finally time to unleash the game on a new generation of gamers.
If first you don't succeed, Trine and Trine again. This is exactly what Frozenbyte Games have done with their superb Trine 2. Releasing the exact same game that has graced other consoles on the Nintendo Wii U was just not good enough. Therefore, they launched Trine 2: The Director's Cut, the original sequel with added extras. Check out the launch trailer if you don't believe me.
Remember when we said that we’d be done showing off Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two trailers? Well, we were just pulling your chain there. Take one more look at what this game can offer for your co-op gaming life.
It's Cyber Monday. That means sales. Lots of sales. We almost missed Xbox Live's offering. There's not a lot of co-op here, but a deal's a deal. Save 50% on The Expendables 2 and the Left 4 Dead 2: Cold Stream DLC. Hey, did you see The Expendables 2 yet? No? Neither did I. I hope they shoot stuff. That's always cool. You can see the full list of games after the break.
Welcome to the slog of December! I know it's not quite December, but everyone I know who has a "good" job began phoning it in as soon as they started their Thanksgiving break. These people aren't going to think until the Bowl games are over, let alone work. My friends in retail, not so much. May God have mercy upon your souls. Anyway, it's that time of year when all the good games go on sale and not much else happens. Here are the new co-op games for the week:
The LEGO series is venerable, and a tremendous success by any measure. Brick environments and LEGO-ized heroes coupled with pop culture thematic material is a recipe for success. As the series has aged, new twists and tricks have been added to formula, and for the most part, these additions have kept the LEGO series good, maybe even very good, but not great. So does LEGO Lord of the Rings have what it takes to make the first truly great LEGO game?
Grand Theft Auto V, or GTA V, has been revealed in the latest issue of Game Informer and it looks to continue the Rockstar Games tradition of making open world games that push the boundaries of technology and story telling. But one thing the team has yet to tackle is a true co-op campaign in any of their open world games. Sure GTA 4 had some co-op missions and Red Dead Redemption took things a bit further with gang hideouts and free roam, but we haven't seen anything to the depth the team at Volition have done with the Saints Row franchise.
