We recently told you how Insomniac's first multiplatform game, Overstrike, has now become a game called Fuse. The title refers to a plot point about some alien goo that's since been weaponized by the government. Unfortuantely that weapon gets stolen and it's up to the Overstrike 9 team to recover. The renaming of the game was for a multitude of reasons, but one thing hasn't change, and that's a focus on co-op.
Borderlands 2 will be in our living rooms in just four days. It's time to say farewell to Borderlands, and hello to the new hotness that is Borderlands 2. To do so, we're hosting two co-op nights. As we've mentioned before, we're playing Borderlands tonight, starting at 9 PM Eastern, on all platforms (PC, Xbox 360, and PS3). Head on over to the event thread for more details. Let's give Borderlands the farewell party it deserves.
Trine 2 remains one of the best looking and most impressive co-op downloadable games, receiving the ultimate Co-Optimus accolade of 5 out of 5 when released on PC, PSN and XBLA. With its reduced power the Wii never received the game, but with the Wii U only weeks away, fans of Nintendo systems can buy the game on launch, bu...
The Indie videogame scene absolutely exploded at PAX Prime 2012. From the huge Indie Game Mega Booth that occupied a quarter of the hall to various devs going "door to door" showing off their latest game, PAX was a hot spot for indie developers. One such game we saw was called Colour Bind. No, that's not a typo. The game is a gravity and physics puzzle game where players have to get from point A to point B by manipulating switches, jumping over obstacles, and maneuvering objects all while managing up to three directions of gravity.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is officially coming to the Nintendo Wii U console when the system launches on November 18th. Perhaps that's a little surprising, considering the previous Nintendo consoles catered to a slightly different audience, either intentionally or not. That said, the Wii U version is going to offer something that Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC can't do - couch co-op play out of the box with each player having their own screen.
A few new photos emerge of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, showing of the dark, but mysterious Endermen mobs. Does this mean the 1.8.2 Adventure Update is right around the corner for Xbox players? We sure think so!
It has been about 2 weeks since the Steam Greenlight program went live, and the first 10 games to be greenlit have been announced just this week. But what, exactly, does that mean, and how does this new platform for indie games work? This week in Indie-Ana Co-Op, we will take a look at this service, how it works, how it compares to other services out there, and what the indie developer community thinks of it.
We had a chance to talk with Chris McQuinn from Drinkbox Studios at Penny Arcade Expo. They were showing off Guacamelee! which is based on something we all love, luchadores. Chris described the game as a "Metroidvania brawler" which features two player co-op, rooted in Mexican culture.
The Command & Conquer series has been around for quite some time - 17 years, in fact. Even if you're a fan of C&C or the RTS genre, chances are you probably haven't owned them all. Heck, even if there's some slim chance you have, your current OS probably won't run some of them. Well, now both hardcore C&C fans as well as RTS fans with a passing interest in the series can rejoice: this fall gamers will be able to grab a whopping 17 Command & Conquer games for $50. And yes, some of them have co-op!
Since its announcement back in January, Orc Attack has looked like a solid fantasy-based multiplayer beat-em-up with a side of humor thrown in for good measure. That humor didn't sit well with everyone, however. Previous videos depict the 4 protagonist orc characters constantly farting at enemies, complete with the disgusting sound effects that entails. I was a tad grossed out, despite developer Casual Brothers' strange and silly defense of the game's flatulence. Thankfully they've finally bowed to player requests (but shouldn't artists ignore feedback? nyuk nyuk) and will allow players to switch the gas attacks to magic ones. Color me excited for the game now!
Nintendo has announced a price and release date for the Nintendo Wii U console, their next generation system. The WiiU will launch in North American on November 18th for a price for $299.99 or $349.99. The two packages are being dubbed the Basic and Deluxe Set. The Basic Set will be offered in white with 8GB of storage while the Deluxe Set, with 32GB of storage, additional accessories and the new Nintendo Land video game, will be offered in black.
