Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Release Date Moved Up, New Metroplex Trailer is Moody and Stompy

Transformers: Fall of Cyberton has got itself a shiny new release date: August 21. This is one of those rare occasions when a game's street date is actually moved up. Sure it's only a week, but I'll take any oasis in the desert that is the summer release schedule. The amount of triple A co-op games coming out between now and then is slim.

Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection Trailer is Strange and Disturbing

You know what you need? More Resident Evil news, that's what. Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection came out last week. It's an on-rails shooter that allows two local co-op players to blast through some of the early lore of the Resident Evil series. The title is an HD compilation of RE: The Umbrella Chronicles and RE: The Dark Side Chronicles, which were both good, M-rated, fun on the Wii.

Support Co-Op by Supporting Retrovirus Kickstarter

There are a lot of Kickstarter campaigns out there for a variety of projects ranging from boardgames to videogames to underwater rovers. One such project that we noticed, and of which we brought word last month when it started up, was for Cadenza Interactive's next game: Retrovirus. Offering a six-degrees of freedom style of gameplay (think Descent) along with a fully cooperative campaign, Retrovirus is a bit of an ambitious title for the relatively new studio, but it's a project they are very passionate about and are eager to share with the videogaming community. In fact, they now have a playable alpha version available for download so you can get an idea of what the game's about. Check out some gameplay footage after the break.

Resident Evil 6 Demo Available NOW for Owners of the Xbox 360 Versions of Dragon's Dogma

Dragon's Dogma owners have something to crow about today. If you have the Xbox 360 version of Capcom's fantasy title you can now download the Resident Evil 6 demo through Xbox LIVE. Judging by the press release, this demo will include the three separate campaign missions that were on display at last month's E3. Chris Redfield, Leon Kennedy, and Jake Muller each face threats from Umbrella in three vastly different locations across the globe. Unfortunately, you'll have to go it alone. The demo doesn't support co-op. UPDATE: It appears the demo DOES support online co-op. Awesome! If it supports offline co-op, drop us a line, and I'll update again.

The Co-Op Terminology Guide 2012 Edition

Co-Op games have come a long way since our first terminology guide. We've seen hundreds of new titles appear offering unique ways to share the gaming experience in a non-competitive way. We thought it was a good time for a refresher and a good time to tweak some of the terminology used around the site to avoid confusion. With a database of over 2000 cooperative video games, there's something for everyone.
