Get ready for more EDF fun. Earth Defense Forces 4 (I have no idea why "forces" is plural now, but it is) has a brand new announcement trailer. One of my favorite reasons for going to trade shows is getting to meet folks I email or chat with on a regular basis via the internet. One such person is Tim Keenan of Misfits Attic, the creators of the recent co-op puzzler A Virus Named Tom. I've been corresponding with Tim for the better part of the last two years now, so getting to meet him in person at PAX 2012 was definitely high on the list of things to do.

September 20th, 2012. Torchlight 2 finally has a release date thanks to a big announcement by developer Runic Games at PAX. They definitely didn't want you to forget it as it was plastered all over their booth on the show floor. With the game's release imminent, we sat down and played through a near final build of Act 2 in the game.
Serious Sam 3: BFE doesn't have a specific release date , isn't on the Xbox Live Marketplace (yet), and doesn't have a definitive co-op player count. It does have an Achievement list, so that's something, right? There are specific chievos for co-op play. Realms of Ancient War has got itself a release date! The action RPG features two player local co-op and your standard Warrior, Wizard, and Rogue classes. On paper it sounds kind of vanilla, but is looks pretty good in motion. Check out the trailer after the break. It features cooperative gameplay footage, huge area of effect spells, and some banging opera. I love damage indicators!

Tribute Games, the studio that brought us the unique Wizorb are winding down their funding for their 4 player local action shooter. If you're a fan of Contra, Gunstar Heroes, or Metal Slug you best be backing up this project because it is looking like an amazing action shooter.
Double Dragon: Neon, the eighties-themed reimagining of the Double Dragon franchise is now available on both Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network. That's good! But publisher Majesco has revealed a bit of bad news at the last minute: the game only supports 2-player local co-op at launch. Don't worry, though - online co-op is "coming soon" in a post-release update. It's your basic Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light situation. Majesco probably should've announced the online co-op delay a little earlier so as not to mar news of the game's launch, but what's done is done.
Miner Wars has been in development for quite a while, in fact our first article on the game was from July of 2009. Yes, it's been a long road for the game and there's quite a bit to update you on as things settle in. First off, the game originally started as an MMO but is now actually two separate games: a fully featured single player / co-op / versus game and an MMO. There's actually a third game, Miner Wars Arena, that was just released that's more arcade style gameplay as well set in the same universe, but that's a bit of an offshoot project.
Left 4 Dead popularized the co-op action zombie game genre for sure, but the series certainly isn't the only game in town. Killing Floor started as a Half-Life mod and moved into full blown territory shortly after and Contagion looks to do the same having come from the creator of the Half-Life 2 mod called Zombie Panic: Source. We went hands on with the game at PAX Prime 2012 and came away impressed with some truly unique gameplay elements.
The Zombie Apocalypse has been bubbling away in the Resident Evil universe for years now, but has never really broken out. The odd T Virus here or Raccoon City there - but no Zombageddon. Resident Evil 6 is looking like rectifying this as the scale of the outbreak is bigger than ever. The new cinematic trailer for the game entitled No Hope Left, gives a taste of all three campaigns found in the game.
